We are delighted to announce the opening of our Clonakilty Blackpudding Visitor Centre here at Clonakilty HQ!
At the Visitor Centre we offer an interactive, self guided tour that will take you through the story of how Clonakilty Food Co Came to be. During the tour you get a glimpse of Clonakilty in the 1880’s when Clonakilty Blackpudding was first made and how it has evolved throughout the generations from small beginnings in a butcher shop in Pearse Street to present day where you can find it in Europe, Australia and the UAE! You can experience Clonakilty in the 1980’s, how the Twomey family story started and get right into the heart of an Irish food company that is filled with a strong sense of family, tradition and Clonakilty pride.
As you make your way through the tour there are various interactive elements including holograms and a spice rack to test your senses! (Currently partially closed due to COVID-19). You also have the unique opportunity to see our production line and how Clonakilty Blackpudding is made in our viewing gallery. The 1 hour tour concludes with some delicious samples in our cafe including Clonakilty Blackpudding, Whitepudding & Ispíní Sausages, and our latest offering Clonakilty Veggie Pudding, which happens to be Celebrating it’s 1 year anniversary next month! It’s exciting times here at Clonakilty Food Company. This trip is great for all the family of all ages. We hope to see you here soon!
