EVENT Season

The Clonakilty Team kicked off Summer 2023 with Bord Bia Bloom and Taste of Dublin. We thoroughly enjoyed the few days catching up with new and existing customers and hearing what people are enjoying and most importantly, gaining insightful feedback for our collection of products.

Bord Bia Bloom

The Clonakilty team spent the June bank holiday in Phoenix Park at Bord Bia Bloom 2023. Bloom is Ireland’s largest and most spectacular gardening event, showcasing the best of Irish horticulture, food, drink and art. Check out our highlights here. This was our first event with our newest member to the family, our Clonakilty Veggie Sausages which needless to say went down a treat! We were situated in the Food Hall amongst many other fantastic Irish producers cooking up a storm for the full five days. We were perched next too the lovely Magaly of Gran Grans foods and their delicious relishes paired perfectly with our blackpudding! Plenty of food for thought!

Taste of Dublin

What a weekend! The atmosphere at Taste of Dublin was well and truly buzzing, as always. We were visited by lots of curious foodies, some of them trying Clonakilty Blackpudding for the very first time which is always a fun one! This event showcases Ireland’s finest food and drink as well as top-class music performances and live cooking masterclasses. As well as meeting our lovely customers, its always nice to catch up with fellow producers, our neighbors this year were the lovely gang at The Copeland Distillery. The Copeland Distillery, situated on Ireland’s East Coast, is a craft producer of a range of Irish Gin, Rum, Single Malt and Pot Still Whiskey – we would recommend checking them out. Have you ever tried pairing your favourite whiskey with our blackpudding?! Take a look at a TASTE of our time here.

Clonakilty Old Time Fair

On July 1st, we took a step back in time here in our hometown for the Clonakilty Old Time Fair which is a fantastic celebration of Clonakilty’s heritage. The town was alive with traditional crafts, art, music and food. Once again, we parked our bike outside our butcher shop, Edward Twomey’s where we sampled all day long. The Clonakilty Blackpudding recipe is steeped in tradition, so this event is the perfect fit to celebrate our story and heritage. The people of Clonakilty come together in there old time gear and remember the town in its olden times. The South County Band Championships also took place, we were humming and tapping with them all day!
